| Friends Of Main Street now has its own Website
where you can now also buy your SCRIP online.
Friends of Main Street (or FOMS) is Main Street Elementary school’s parent fun and fundraising organization. If your child attends Main Street School, the good news is that you are a member of Friends of Main Street. (We also welcome Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents help.)
A primary purpose of Friends of Main Street is to raise funds that support the art and music programs for K-5. In addition, FOMS supports the technology lab, provides classroom supplies, organizes school events, and helps with many other school needs that the state doesn’t cover.
With all those activities, FOMS always need volunteers to help with our year round and help raise funds and build a community.
To help FOMS, here are some of the things you can do:
- Stop by the Scrip table and purchase Scrip for your daily and weekly shopping. Last year Scrip raised over $14,000.
- Attend a FOMS event, such as the Fall BBQ or a Family Concert.
- Learn what Friends is doing by attending a monthly FOMS meeting. Meetings are every 3rd Monday of the month.
- Volunteer to help with
- The auction. The auction is our major fundraiser.
- Art docent program. Work directly with the kids in the classroom.
- Sell Scrip before and after school.
- Join the gardening group.
- Use your photo skills to help get those great pictures for the yearbook.
- Help distribute the newsletter.
- Grant writers are also badly needed.
